Ocean Scenes
The Outer Banks of North Carolina are one of my favorite places to go. I like to vacation there in the early Spring or late Fall when the long stretches of beach are almost empty and the skies are at their most brilliant.
Many of these paintings were done plein aire (while sitting in front of the scene). Several were done after my vacation from photographs so I could recapture the utter joy of being there.
